Member dues pay the lion’s share of ESLA’s work to preserve and protect the water quality, boating safety, and riparian enjoyment of their properties on Elk and Skegemog lakes and the Elk, Torch, and Rapid rivers. Costs for the work our non-profit and its volunteer board have increased sharply in recent years. Your dues pay the bills to controlling or prevent introduction or expansion of invasive plants and animals, inform our members of best strategies to improve and protect their waterfronts, conduct research to better understand immediate and future concerns, inform our members with an improved website, printed newsletters and email blasts. And so much more. We have a DNR-issued permit to annually install and remove buoys marking safe passage from Lake Skegemog to the Torch River. Our Shore Thing meetings from April to October have attracted large audiences to hear experts on issues for our waters. ESLA has exciting projects in the works and will report more on what’s coming in a March newsletter that will include a directory of 2023 paid members. We’ll also send more frequent email news updates. Unsure whether we have your email, contact ElkSkegemoglakes@gmail.com and be sure to include your waterfront address.
